What does networking in 2021 actually look like? We all know 2020 looked drastically different from our ‘normal’. We all began to rely on technology to continue to service existing clients and network with potential clients. With the world opening back up in 2021, now is the time to begin reaching out to clients and prospects to set up in person meetings.
So, what are some simple ways to get in front of clients and prospects? Start reaching back out to see how business is for them. If you see a client or prospect publish an article on LinkedIn or upload a new blog to their website, seize the opportunity to connect with them and engage with their content.
Take advantage of their social media presence and do a little preliminary research of your own. If they aren’t active on social media, simply reach out to them. Call and leave a message or send an email. Simply asking how things are going will often parlay into more in depth insight into what’s going on in the work world or even future projects on their horizons you may be able to partner on.
It comes down to being aware of what’s going on in their world. Sometimes the conversations may not be related to things that you offer as a business, but maybe it’s a connection you can make for future work. By you taking the time to reach out, you’re positioning yourself to be top-of-mind.
